GOT QUESTIONS?
What services do you offer?
Brewster's Buddies offers daily dog walking for clients who work long hours or cannot walk their dogs for other reasons.
We also offer pet sitting. This consists of visits made to your home throughout the day to care for your pet(s), most commonly for dogs and cats but also birds and other small animals. We have even cared for backyard chickens.
We do not offer boarding or overnights at this time.
I need pet sitting. How many visits does my dog or cat need?
We recommend at least three daily visits for dogs to make sure they have plenty of chances to relieve themselves and be comfortable. Having to wait too long to urinate can contribute to bladder infections in females as well as accidents and anxiety. It can be especially hard for puppies and elderly dogs.
For cats, at least 1 daily visit per 24 hour period is required. We do not book every other day or less for cats. Here's why- Some illnesses come on quickly and can be fatal within 24 hours, such as urinary blockage in male cats. Cats have also been known to become entangled or accidentally trapped in a room without access to food and water. Having a welfare check at least once every 24 hours increases the likelihood of catching and treating illnesses as well as the possibility of rescuing your cat from a dangerous situation should one occur.
What should I expect at the meet and greet?
The meet and greet is designed so you and your pet can feel comfortable with the sitter or walker. This is the time for you to ask any questions you may have or share concerns. Please be prepared to let us know of any issues with your pet we should be aware of, such as medical issues, physical limitations or behavioral issues. To walk your dog safely, we need to know if your dog gets upset over other dogs while being walked or if your dog has a history of biting, nipping or aggression. Let us know if your cat loves attention or prefers not to be touched. Discuss your pets routine- feeding amounts and habits as well as where you keep food, treats, leashes, harnesses, collars and pet waste bags. Please have a key ready to give to the sitter/walker if applicable. Most people know if they are comfortable going through with scheduling by the end of the meet and greet; however, if you are interviewing others or have not made your decision yet, please be aware that we do charge a fee of $15 for a later key pickup.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check or PayPal. PayPal online payments carry a small transaction fee to cover processing charges. Checks should be made out to Brewster's Buddies. Payments are collected by or on the first visit for pet sitting or on the first walking day of each week for dog walking clients.
